Customize Your Curriculum for Your Career
The Applied Mathematics curriculum is designed to be customizable based on your specific career goals and interests. This customization comes in the form of four unique interdisciplinary tracks:
- apply mathematics to the fields of biology and medicine
- : develop your mathematics skills as they pertain to the different fields of chemistry
- take your mathematics further into the fields of data science, programming, and information technology
- enter the fields of financial management, economics, finance, and more
Apply Mathematics to Your Unique Interests
鈥淚 majored in applied mathematics and have minors in economics and data science and analytics, and this combination is helping me do some really unique research on women in Latin America. As part of a project for the Honors Program, I鈥檒l be examining macro- versus micro-economies and creating a compartmentalized model of how government funding is being deployed and how it could be deployed more effectively. I plan to look at data like birth rates and school attendance and create equations based on those parameters.鈥

Compassionate Faculty and Internship Opportunities
"I knew in my college search that I did not want to be just another student in a lecture hall of 500 students. At Marist, I feel completely comfortable calling, emailing, and visiting my professors' office hours anytime I have a question or just want to catch up.
Throughout my time at Marist, I have had multiple internships with important companies: Connecticut Insurance & Financial Services, Prudential, and S&P. I am extremely grateful that I was given and have accepted a full-time position after my senior year to work for S&P Global as a credit analyst in New York City."
